Doug Dagger: Vocals

doug Douglas Scott Kane AKA Doug Dagger, born October 17th, 1967 in New York City. Kane was born into an entertainment family, as his mother was a nightclub showgirl, and his father was an entertainment manager. Kane is also the grand son of famous 1930’s Vaudeville musician Buster Shaver. Kane Moved to South Pasadena California in 1978, and quickly was swept away into the Southern California culture. By 1981 he was facilitating himself into the early LA Punk Rock Scene, and by 1983 at the age of 15 Kane was singing in his first Punk Band Doug and The Slugz. The Slugz were supporting some better-known Hardcore Punk bands at the time, such as Ill Repute, Decry, Crucifix, and The Abandoned. By 1984 The Slugz changed their name to The Risk, and were playing at all the trashed out Punk clubs in Southern California. The Risk are documented as being one of the first OI! Skinhead Punk bands in the United States.

By the mid 1980’s Kane’s life had spun out of control, and his musician lifestyle took a back seat to drug abuse and numerous jail cell visits. At the age of 17 he had become a founding member of a notorious Los Angeles punk skinhead gang. Over the next few years Kane’s life was further pushed out into the street, as he became homeless, and was jumped into a violent San Gabriel Valley Mexican Street Gang. In 1986 Kane had hit rock bottom, which resulted into drug dealing and hustling female prostitutes in an East Los Angeles Housing Project. During his teens and early twenties Kane had numerous jobs such as a Warehouse Worker, Dishwasher, Carpenter, and Grave Digging at a local cemetery.

In the summer of 1988, Kane bounced back, and returned himself to the music world. He was asked to sing for the Alhambra, California based Punk band Schleprock. By 1990 Schleprock released their first e.p. “Do It All” on Nemesis Records along side label mates The Offspring. Over the next decade Kane and Schleprock would release 6 more e.p’s, Looking Back (1992), Gotta Get Out (1993), Spring (1993), Migraine (1994), Something Like That (1994), and Out Of Spite (1995). There were 2 full-length albums recorded over these years as well, Hide and Seek (1993), Propeller (1994). They signed a deal to Warner Brothers Records in 1996, and released their last full-length album “Americas Dirty Little Secret”. Schleprock over a stretch of 8 years were asked to support such bands like Green Day, NO FX, Blink 182, Primus, Bad Religion The Specials, and Face To Face. Due to internal struggles within the band, and drug addictions Schleprock dis banded in February 1998. Within six months from the break up of Schleprock, Kane, and Schlep’s drummer Ernie Berru formed The Generators along side guitarists Mike Snow, and Eric Ortega, and bass guitarist Richey Santia. The Generators released their first full-length album Welcome To The End in 1998 with the help of Triple X Records. The Generators over the next 12 years would release 6 more full-length albums - Burning Ambition (2000), Tyranny (2001), Excess, Betrayal and Our Dearly Departed (2003), Winter Of Discontent (2005), Great Divide (2007), and Between The Devil & The Deep Blue Sea (2009). The Generators have contributed music for the Los Angeles Lakers, California Angels, Corona Beer Company, and The Grammy Awards foundation.

Doug Kane still resides in Los Angeles, and owns and operates a clothing business in between touring and making records.
